UPDATE: Shug Jordan Parkway, MLK Drive closures rescheduled for July 22

UPDATE, June 30:

This work has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 22, from 7:30-11 a.m. Motorists are advised to use caution in these areas and to take alternate routes to avoid delays.

UPDATE, June 9:

This work, including the June 11 rain date, has been canceled due to rain predictions for the week of June 9.

May 30, 2025:

AUBURN, Ala. - Intermittent road closures are expected on portions of Martin Luther King (MLK) Drive and Shug Jordan Parkway on Tuesday, June 10, from 7:30-11 a.m. for work planned by the Alabama Power Company.

Traffic impacts are expected on:

  • MLK Drive near Richland Road between Alabama Street and Jordan Street.
  • Shug Jordan Parkway/AL Hwy 147 near the MLK Drive/AL Hwy 14 ramp.

Traffic control will be in place to ensure two-way traffic throughout the work. Motorists are advised to use caution in these areas and to take alternate routes to avoid delays.

In the event of inclement weather delays, work will be postponed until Wednesday, June 11.
